The Eyoi Yoi was designed in 2006. The idea was to create a kinetic quality to the light by suspending butterfly shapes on stainless steel wires,
inspired by watching autumn leaves falling from their tree and tumbling delicately to the ground.
Equal parts sculpture and practical light, the Eyoi Yoi gives vibrancy to any space whether the light is on or off.
The butterfly shapes respond to air movement in the room, and the shadows cast by the shapes when the light is on create a distinct atmosphere.
Hand made to order in Melbourne, each and every light is a unique collaboration between Marc Pascal/Davoluce Lighting Studio and you.
The polycarbonate is dyed in-house to create a library of colours to select from.
Three varieties of polycarbonate are incorporated into each light to give texture and depth to the arrangement, opal white, frosted clear, and gloss transparent shapes are arranged by hand.
Our approach to colour is “less is more”, each light is approximately 30% selected colours, and the remaining shapes are white, allowing the light to breathe. Full colour hue saturation is also possible.
